A RESOLUTION declaring certain County-owned land as surplus real property and authorizing the Administration to solicit bids for selling one (1) surplus parcel.

Body
WHEREAS, the County owns one (1) parcel of property in Jackson County located in Kansas City, MO; and,

WHEREAS, the parcel number associated with this property is as follows:
PARCEL 29-240-11-01-00-0-00-000 - PROPERTY AND BUILDINGS LOCATED BETWEEN EAST 13th AND EAST 14th STREETS ON THE NORTH AND SOUTH; BETWEEN CHERRY AND LOCUST STREETS ON THE EAST AND WEST; STREET ADDRESSES FOR THE IMPACTED BUILDINGS ARE AS FOLLOWS: 1305 LOCUST, 1315 LOCUST, AND 1300 CHERRY STREET IN KANSAS CITY, MO;
and,
WHEREAS, the Administration can identify no current or future use for the property; and,

WHEREAS, the Administration recommends that the Legislature declare this real property surplus to the County’s needs and authorize the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing to solicit bids to sell the surplus property for the maximum benefit to Jackson County residents, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 11 of the Jackson County Code 1984; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the one (1) parcel detailed above be and hereby is declared surplus and that the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to solicit bids for sale of the surplus parcels pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 11, Jackson County Code, 1984.

Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
