Body
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office has a continuing need for prisoner transportation services to facilitate the transportation of fugitives apprehended outside of the State of Missouri on original Jackson County charges and warrants; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.4 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of an eleven-month term and supply contract, with four (4) twelve-month options to extend, for the furnishing of these services to Security Transport Services, Inc., of Topeka, KS, the Sheriff's previous vendor, under the terms and conditions of Johnson County, Kansas Contract No. 2026-014, an existing, competitively bid government contract, for the reason that this will allow the County to take advantage of discounts offered to large groups and/or entities; and,

WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases remaining subject to annual appropriation, with an annual estimated usage of $252,700.00; now therefore,


BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing and that the Interim Director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
