Body
WHEREAS, 40 Acres and a Mule Activity Campus's Children's Connection program provides intervention services, mentoring, and family support for elementary age children in Jackson County schools whose parents are incarcerated on drug-related offenses, by providing a safe, drug-free environment after school; and,
WHEREAS, the Children's Connection program is primarily funded by the St. James United Methodist Church, in the award amount of $12,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, these funds are subject to a local match in the amount of $13,500.00; and
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute a Cooperative Agreement with 40 Acres and A Mule Campus, in a form to be a approved by the County Counselor, to provide a local match to a private grant for the Children's Connection program, at a cost to the County not to exceed $13,500.00; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
