Body
WHEREAS, Silvia Rizzo is retiring on July 26, 2024, after 35 years of service to Jackson County; and,

WHEREAS, Silvia came to Jackson County in 1989 when she was appointed First District At-Large County Legislator; and,

WHEREAS, Silvia ran for election and secured a four-year term through December 31, 1994, serving on the Finance and Audit Committee, Health and Justice Committee, and Anti-Drug Committee; and,

WHEREAS, after completing her tenure as a County Legislator, Silvia continued to serve the Legislature as a Legislative Aide to Victor Callahan from January 1995 through December 2002, and to Robert Stringfield from January 2003 through May 2005; and,

WHEREAS, Silvia joined the staff of the Clerk of the County Legislature's Office in May 2005 through the present, bringing institutional knowledge of County operations; and,

WHEREAS, Silvia has been married for 50 years to Henry Rizzo and together they have two sons, Tony and John, daughter-in-law Lindsay Runnels, grandsons, Henry and Anthony, and granddaughters, Sofia and Ella; and,

WHEREAS, Silvia's co-workers have long appreciated her kind and nurturing attitude, her willingness to help in any circumstance, and her commitment to keeping the office supplied with snacks and treats; and

WHEREAS, in retirement, Silvia hopes to spend more time with her beloved family, and volunteer at her parish, Holy Rosary Catholic Church; and,

WHEREAS, Silvia's service to Jackson County has left an indelible mark and her legacy will continue to inspire others for years to come; now therefore,
