Body
WHEREAS, the term of Anthony J. Romano, a member of the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority, expired on July 15, 2006; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to ยง64.930, RSMo, 2000, and case law construing said section, in the event a vacancy exists, a panel of three names shall be submitted by majority vote of the county legislative body to the Governor of Missouri for appointment; and,

WHEREAS, by Resolution 15967, dated July 17, 2006, the Legislature did timely nominate three qualified candidates to the Governor; and,

WHEREAS, the Clerk of the Legislature promptly transmitted the names of the nominees to the Governor's office for consideration; and,

WHEREAS, the Governor's office, by letter dated August 9, 2006, has requested that the Legislature submit a new panel of nominees for consideration; and,

WHEREAS, the Legislature has determined that it is in the best interests of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County to accede to the Governor's request; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following names shall be submitted to the Governor for his consideration for final appointment to fill the vacancy on the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority occasioned by the expiration of the term of Anthony J. Romano, for a new term to expire July 15, 2011:
A. Stephen R. Bough
B. Warren K. Erdman
C. Deron Cherry

and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Legislature be and hereby is directed to submit this panel to the Governor by providing him a true and correct copy hereof; and,
