A RESOLUTION authorizing the Chair of the Jackson County Fiscal Commission to execute an agreement with Resource Development Institute for the continuation of a substance abuse treatment program at the T. B. Watkins Housing Development at a cost to the County not to exceed $50,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the voters of Jackson County, Missouri, approved imposition of a sales tax for seven years to provide funding for the fight against illegal drugs in our community; and,

WHEREAS, the Legislature authorized grant matching funds through Ordinance 2373; and,

WHEREAS, the Resource Development Institute has requested local matching funds in the amount of $50,000 so as to be able to continue to receive federal funds from the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment in the amount of $531,883; and,

WHEREAS, this is the third year for this program; and,

WHEREAS, the Fiscal Commission has reviewed this application and recommends continued funding in the amount of $50,000; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Chair of the Fiscal Commission is hereby authorized to execute the attached Agreement with the Resource Development Institute; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance is hereby authorized to make all payments, including final payments on this Agreement.
Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
