Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 10980, dated October 9, 1995, the Jackson County Legislature expressed its interest in becoming a partner in a plan for replacing the Chouteau Bridge over the Missouri River; and,
WHEREAS, the plan consists of authorizing the expenditure of $500,000 over a five year period toward the construction of the new bridge, with an initial payment in 1996 of $100,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the public safety and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County that the County participate in this venture with other local governments; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Agreement sets out the rights and obligations of the parties; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Agreement with the City of Kansas City, Missouri; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Manager of the Division of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments required under this Agreement, subject to annual appropriation...Attorney
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
