Body
WHEREAS, as quality improvement manager for Emergency Providers, Inc., the operations contractor for Metropolitan Ambulance Services Trust (MAST), Darryl Coontz, Lee's Summit, has been presented with the first Quality Improvement Award by the Missouri Emergency Medical Services Association; and,
WHEREAS, this prestigious award was bestowed upon Mr. Coontz for his efforts to study and improve on advanced techniques to clear patients' airways; and,
WHEREAS, in addition, Mr. Coontz received a MAST/EPI Special Recognition Award; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Coontz has served in his present position of quality improvement manager since 1996 and was a paramedic for many years preceding that position; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Coontz took third place at the first National Emergency Medical Services Quality Showcase Awards in 1997; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Coontz and his wife, Kristy, have two children, Allison and Ariel; and,
WHEREAS, sincere respect and admiration go out to Mr. Coontz for having received this distinguished award and for his notable efforts in improving methods for clearing patients' pathways; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Darryl Coontz upon his receipt of the initial Quality Improvement Award of the Missouri Emergency Medical Services Association.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
