Body
WHEREAS, Twelfth Street Heritage Development Corporation (TSHDC) is a non-profit organization offering quality, stable, and affordable housing through real estate development, new construction, and rehabilitation; and,
WHEREAS, TSHDC has developed a Re-entry Pilot Program designed to prevent homelessness by employing two former prison inmates to maintain and improve 130 vacant lots in Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, this program is an innovative approach to increase employment opportunities for newly released individuals while also improving the community; and,
WHEREAS, the Housing Resource Commission has approved Housing Resources Commission funds in the amount of $30,000.00 for this program; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute a Cooperative Agreement, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor, with Twelfth Street Heritage Development Corporation, at a cost to the County not to exceed $30,000.00; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the agreement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
