Body
WHEREAS, § 730 of the Jackson County Code requires all officers and employees of the County to be residents of Jackson County, Missouri, and sets forth procedures for the waiver of same by the County Legislature in the case of non-merit employees; and,
WHEREAS, Medical Examiner's investigator Steven Thomas Hensley has requested a waiver of said residency requirement as set forth in his attached letter of January 24, 1996; and,
WHEREAS, the appointing authority of Mr. Hensley, Medical Examiner Thomas W. Young, M.D., has set forth in detail his attached letter facts tending to show a hardship on the part of said employee and that it would be in the best interest of the County if a waiver of the residency requirement were to be granted; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature does hereby waive the residency requirement for non-merit employee Steven Thomas Hensley based upon his showing of hardship and further based upon the best interests of Jackson County.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
