Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 4165, dated October 26, 2009, the Legislature did approve the 2009 Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (JAG), received from the U. S. Department of Justice; and,

WHEREAS, the County and the U.S. Department of Justice now desire to extend the grant through September 30, 2013, at no additional cost to the County; and,

WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office has also requested, and the U.S. Department of Justice has authorized, the reallocation of grant funds to purchase two sniper rifle scopes and to extend funding for the Traffic Analyst position within the Sheriff's Office; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the 2009 Byrne Justice Assistance Grant, received from the U. S. Department of Justice, be and hereby is extended until September 30, 2013; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the recommended reallocation of grant funds be and hereby is approved; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Sheriff and all other County officials be and hereby are authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to give effect to the intent of this Resolution.

Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
