RESOLUTION # 14401, December 9, 2002

INTRODUCED BY Fred Arbanas, County Legislator

Body
WHEREAS, Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,

WHEREAS, Section 1063.00 of the Code requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $5,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends a contract with Outdoor U.S. Turf of Grandview, MO, for the furnishing of Rain Bird irrigation systems parts and services for use by the Parks and Recreation Department; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director further recommends that it not take competitive bids with regard to said contract for the reason that Outdoor U.S. Turf of Grandview, MO, is the sole factory authorized supplier of these parts for the states of Missouri and Kansas; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Purchasing Director be, and hereby is, authorized to execute for the County a contract with Outdoor U.S. Turf of Grandview, MO, for the furnishing of Rain Bird irrigation systems parts and services for use by the Parks and Recreation Department, in the estimated amount of $25,000.00; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency have heretofore been made in the current Jackson County budget.
