Body
WHEREAS, an appropriation of $52,570.00 is necessary in order to accept a contract awarded by the Missouri Department of Public Safety to the Family Court Division for the VOCA-Victim Advocacy which includes a grant of $48,136.00 and a local match of $4,434.00 derived from community donations; and,
WHEREAS, the VOCA-Victim Advocacy Project ("Project") is designed to provide services of crisis intervention, follow-up, referral and linkage to therapy and other needed community services, support and advocacy throughout the investigation and any medical or court proceedings involving children and their non-offending family members seen at the Child Protection Center; and,
WHEREAS, the Project began October 1, 2005 and will continue through September 30, 2006 and the Family Court Division recommends acceptance of the grant and execution of the grant award contract with the Missouri Department of Public Safety; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this appropriation and amendment to her proposed 2005 County budget; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be made from the unappropriated surplus of the 2005 Grant Fund:
