A RESOLUTION transferring $100,000.00 within the 2007 Health Fund and authorizing the County Executive to execute a cooperative agreement for the Kansas City Pet Project with Spay and Neuter Kansas City, to provide for spay and neutering services and animal welfare education through a partnership with Kansas City, Missouri Animal Control, AnimalKind, and Wayside Waifs, at an actual cost to the County not to exceed $100,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, pet overpopulation continues to be a community problem and the Kansas City Pet Project will promote responsible pet ownership by providing animal welfare education, spay and neuter surgeries, and rabies vaccinations to those who cannot otherwise afford them, through a partnership among Spay and Neuter Kansas City, Kansas City, Missouri Animal Control, AnimalKind, and Wayside Waifs; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County that the County support the Kansas City Pet Project, at an actual cost to the County not to exceed $100,000.00;
WHEREAS, a transfer is necessary to fund this expense; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said transfer; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be made within the 2007 Health Fund:
