RESOLUTION NO. 22310, June 15, 2026

Body
WHEREAS, after a decade of leadership as superintendent and more than 12 years serving the Grandview C-4 School District, Dr. Kenny Rodrequez has announced he will be stepping down on June 30th; and,

WHEREAS, Dr. Rodrequez has been selected as the next superintendent of Putnam City Public Schools in Oklahoma; and,

WHEREAS, he will be returning to his home state to lead a district serving approximately 19,000 students; and,

WHEREAS, Dr. Rodrequez was appointed to the position of superintendent of the Grandview School District in 2016 following the retirement of Ralph Teran; and,

WHEREAS, he previously served two years as an assistant superintendent in Grandview; and,

WHEREAS, during his tenure, the district made significant academic progress, completed major capital improvements and received strong community support through successful bond and levy initiatives; and,

WHEREAS, during his tenure, Dr. Rodrequez was named the 2024 Missouri Superintendent of the year by the American Association of School Administrators; and,

WHEEREAS, during his seven-year tenure as Superintendent, Dr. Rodrequez has prioritized student success, implementing data-driven strategies to enhance academic achievement; and,

WHEREAS, he has also prioritized communication, ensuring that the Grandview community is well-informed and engaged; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED that the Jackson County Legislature commends and congratulates Dr. Kenny Rodrequez for his commitment to building trust and fostering open and honest conversations within the district and the community.
