Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 11514, dated November 25, 1996, the Legislature authorized a three-year contract through February 29, 2000, on Request for Proposals No. 120-96 for the furnishing of inmate telephone service for use by the Corrections Department; and,

WHEREAS, on January 25, 2000, the Purchasing Director solicited formal written proposals on Request for Proposals No. 8-00 for continued inmate pay telephone service with two non-responsive bids received; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director is in the process of rebidding this contract; and,

WHEREAS, in order to continue this service in the interim, the Purchasing Director recommends that the contract with Sprint Communications, L.P. be extended on a month-to-month basis at the same monthly commission rate as the current contract, waiving the guaranteed annual commission; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that an extension be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director and that the County Executive be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the extension.

Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
