A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute an agreement with Truman Medical Center, Inc. (TMC) for its "Teen Moms" program in the amount of $75,000.00 as a local match to a federal grant.

Body
WHEREAS, Truman Medical Center, Inc.'s "Teen Moms'' program is a comprehensive mentoring program for pregnant and parenting teenage girls and families; and,
WHEREAS, the Teen Moms program is supported by a grant from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, in the amount of $285,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, these funds are subject to a local match in the amount of $167,884.00; and,
WHEREAS, TMC has requested anti-drug sales tax funds in the amount of $75,000.00 to provide a portion of this local match, with the remainder to be provided by other agencies; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into the attached Agreement, a copy of which is incorporated herein by reference, with TMC; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the Agreement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
