AN ORDINANCE appropriating $50,056.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 1998 Grant Fund to cover the Kidsafe Grant for the Prosecuting Attorney's office, received from the United States Department of Justice and the transfer of matching funds, and authorizing the County Executive to execute an agreement with the Heart of America United Way, at a cost to the County not to exceed $15,236.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Justice has awarded the Heart of America United Way a grant in the amount of $50,056.00 to cover 75% of the salary of an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for its Kidsafe program; and,
WHEREAS, said grant is subject to a $15,236.00 local match for which a transfer and appropriation are necessary; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Agreement is a suitable mechanism by which funds for the grant can be implemented; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be made from the unappropriated surplus of the 1998 Grant Fund:
