Body
WHEREAS, Lone Jack Baptist Church desires to begin planning for future building expansion; and,

WHEREAS, Lone Jack Baptist Church cannot build to its west due to existing, complex utility easements, and cannot build to its north due to the City of Lone Jack's street easement across the church's property; and,

WHEREAS, the County owns a tract of park property, adjacent to the Lone Jack Civil War Museum, which has road frontage to Bynum Road, the major north/south road in Lone Jack, and the church wishes to acquire this parcel to facilitate future expansion of the church and to permit a street easement in favor of the City of Lone Jack across the church property; and,

WHEREAS, Lone Jack Baptist Church proposes to replace the tract owned by the County with a tract adjacent to other property owned by the County, located across the street from the Lone Jack Civil War Museum; and,
WHEREAS, the replacement property is acceptable to the Director of Parks and Recreation, and the Lone Jack Historical Society is in favor of the arrangement to preserve future access to an area where the Civil War battle was primarily fought; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute a General Warranty Deed conveying the above-described County property to Lone Jack Baptist Church, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
