Body
WHEREAS, Boys and Girls Club of Eastern Jackson County has been awarded a grant from the National Boys and Girls Clubs of America's Bureau of Justice, in the amount of $35,000.00, to be used in connection with its "Hawthorne Place" program; and,
WHEREAS, this program is designed for youth in the Eastern Jackson County area, ages 5-17, who are from disadvantaged circumstances; and,
WHEREAS, Boys and Girls Club of Eastern Jackson County has requested County Anti-Drug Sales Tax matching funds in the amount of $35,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein by reference, with Boys and Girls Club of Eastern Jackson County for its Hawthorne Place program; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
