Body
WHEREAS, Earlene Jernigan has faithfully served Jackson County for twenty-two years; and,

WHEREAS, during her career with the County, she has served as administrative assistant to the Chief of Corrections, legislative aide to the 5th District legislator, CETA Youth Programs Director, legislative aide to the 3rd District-at-Large legislator, administrative secretary to the M.I.S. Director, micro computer software trainer, micro computer support technician, and systems analyst, and she ends her career as the Director of the Records Department; and,

WHEREAS, as Director of Records, Earlene is responsible for the leadership of 34 employees in three separate locations, which includes the Kansas City and Independence Courthouse Recorder's offices, and the Jackson County Record Center; and,

WHEREAS, Earlene is a member of the Association of Records Managers and Administrators, International Association of Clerks, Recorders, Elected Officials and Treasurers, Society for Technical Communication, and National Forum of Black Public Administrators; and,

WHEREAS, Earlene has also done volunteer work in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization and the Northwest Missouri Citizens Advisory Board of Probation and Parole from which she received an award for outstanding volunteer; and,

WHEREAS, Earlene has two children, Darrell and Lisa, and three wonderful grandchildren; and,

WHEREAS, warm friendship and appreciation go out to Earlene for her twenty-two years of dedicated service to Jackson County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Earlene A. Jernigan upon her retire...
