Body
WHEREAS, Rhonda Shoemaker, a lifelong eastern Jackson County resident and business owner for more than twenty years, was elected to the Legislature in 2002; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Shoemaker has served in various capacities as a Legislator, including the current Chair of the Health and Justice Committee, Vice Chair of the Land Use Committee, member of the Oversight Committee monitoring the renovations at the Truman Sports Complex, and member of the Public Works Committee; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Shoemaker has twenty years of experience in the construction industry, is currently the President and CEO of Midwest Contracting Services, has served as a member of various construction industry associations, and has volunteered her time with area schools and charitable organizations; and,
WHEREAS, Rhonda's invaluable knowledge and familiarity with construction design and contract procedures enhanced her solution-based problem solving skills to provide an effective voice on behalf of the taxpayers she has proudly served; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature recognizes Rhonda Shoemaker for her selfless dedication to the residents of the 5th District and Jackson County as a whole.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
