Body
WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office recommends the execution of the attached Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with, West Central Missouri Regional Lodge #50 of the Fraternal Order of Police to provide the terms and conditions of employment; and,
WHEREAS, the purpose of this agreement is to set forth terms and conditions of employment and to promote harmonious, orderly, and peaceful labor relations for the mutual interest of the County, the Sheriff, the Lodge, and citizens and visitors of Jackson County, Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, the attached MOU further outlines, clarifies, and memorializes the responsibilities of West Central Missouri Regional Lodge #50 of the Fraternal Order of Police; and,
WHEREAS, the attached MOU creates an employment relationship between West Central Missouri Regional Lodge #50 of the Fraternal Order of Police, Jackson County, and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office; and,
WHEREAS, the execution of the attached MOU is in the best interests of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Sheriff’s Office be and hereby is authorized to execute, on the behalf of the County, the attached MOU with West Central Missouri Regional Lodge #50 of the Fraternal Order of Police.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
