Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Sports Authority and County Executive and the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals are engaged in talks about the retention of the teams at Arrowhead Stadium and Kaufmann Stadium; and,
WHEREAS, retention of the teams is of interest to all Jackson County Citizens; and,
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Legislative Rule 9(C) the Chairman of the Legislature is a voting member of all committees; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County that the Legislature participate in these negotiations; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that Dan Tarwater, Scott Burnett, Bob Spence and Dennis Waits are hereby appointed as an ad hoc committee of the Legislature to participate in the negotiations of the stadium leases.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
