Body
WHEREAS, the residents of Parade Park Homes ("PPH") are fed up with the spiraling violence in Kansas City and have decided to take measures to stop it; and,
WHEREAS, a group of residents of PPH led by Charline Harrison-Rainey went door-to-door in their community, determined to educate the other residents about the ongoing problems with crime and challenge them to take a stand against it; and,
WHEREAS, after the recent car jacking and beating of a 54 year-old female resident, the PPH Board of Directors ("Board") has offered $5,000.00 for anyone providing information leading to the arrest and conviction of the offenders; and,
WHEREAS, in addition to the reward, Charline Harrison-Rainey sent out the "Rainey Report" to the residents informing them on the actions that will be taken to prevent further criminal activity within the community; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature commends Charline Harrison-Rainey and the Parade Park Homes community for its solidarity in fighting crime in the area.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
