WHEREAS, on October 20, 2023, the Kansas City Royals Baseball Club, LLC (the “Royals”) tendered a reply offer term sheet (“Term Sheet”) to Jackson County setting forth the terms and conditions pursuant to which the Royals would develop and finance a new baseball stadium at the East Village location in Kansas City, Missouri (the “Stadium”); and,
WHEREAS, the County desires to perform all appropriate due diligence related to the Term Sheet and the Stadium; and,
WHEREAS, it is the interest of the County to consider the input of the County Executive on the Term Sheet; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature requests the County Executive to review and make recommendations regarding the Term Sheet to the Legislature, within 48 hours after the adoption of this resolution by the Legislature; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby requested to review the Term Sheet and make recommendations to the Legislature concerning the Term Sheet within 48 hours after the adoption of this resolution by the Legislature.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon passage by a majority of the Legislature.
