Body
WHEREAS, as part of the obligations for inmate care and safety, it is necessary for the Jackson County Detention Center to provide suitable and standard clothing items for inmates in various sizes; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing has solicited bids on Invitation to Bid No. 25-017 for the furnishing of inmate clothing for use by the Jackson County Detention Center; and,
WHEREAS, notifications were distributed and viewed and five responses were received and evaluated, from the following:

and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1054.6 of the Jackson County Code, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the split award of a twelve-month term and supply contract, with two twelve-month options to extend, for the furnishing of these supplies to Bob Barker of Fuquay-Varina, NC, and Victory Supply of Mt. Pleasant, TN; and,
WHEREAS, a split award to the low bidders is recommended to ensure continued availability, and variety, of necessary supplies and to ensure the ability to order items at competitive prices; and,
WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases subject to annual appropriation, with an anticipated annual expenditure of $200,000.00; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing and that the Director be, and hereby is, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract and any extension, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using agency are contained in the then current Jackson County budget.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
