Body
WHEREAS, Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,
WHEREAS, Section 1063.00 of the Code requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $5,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends a contract with Business Records Corporation of Dallas, TX, for the furnishing of reconditioned voting machines for use by the Election Board; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director further recommends that he not take competitive bids with regard to said contract for the reason that Business Records Corporation of Dallas, TX, is the only known supplier of reconditioned voting machines meeting the County's specifications; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County a contract with Business Records Corporation of Dallas, TX, for the furnishing of reconditioned voting machines for the Election Board, in an amount not to exceed $51,600.00; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract thereby made.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
