IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI

A RESOLUTION awarding a term and supply contract on Bid No. 4-01 for the furnishing of ready mix concrete for use by the Public Works and Parks and Recreation Departments to Fordyce Concrete Company, Inc., of Overland Park, KS, in the estimated amount of $40,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. 4-01 for the furnishing of ready mix concrete for use by the Public Works and Parks and Recreation Departments to provide for departmental needs for upcoming one-year period; and,
WHEREAS, following evaluation of the bids submitted, the Purchasing Director recommends that the contract be divided and awarded to the vendors submitting the lowest bid for each item; and,
WHEREAS, award as recommended would result in estimated awards to the following vendors:

Fordyce Concrete Co., Inc. $25,000 (Flowable Fill)
Overland Park, Kansas
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made to Fordyce Concrete Co. of Overland Parks, KS, for the reason that it has submitted, in the determination of the Legislature, the lowest and best bid, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent sufficient appropriations to the using spending agencies have heretofore been made in the current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.

Fiscal Note
This award is made on a need basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount. The availability of funds for specific purchases will, of necessity, be determined as each using agency places its order, with certification made at that time within amounts previously budgeted for the spending agency.
