Body
WHEREAS, Loring Henderson has spent the past ten years serving our community as the director of the Redemptorist Social Services Center, where he spearheaded an effort to expand both space and service to meet the needs of more than 1,300 persons seeking help each month; and,
WHEREAS, Loring's success as the director of Redemptorist Social Services Center was in part facilitated by his solid background in and dedication to public service in previous employment with the non-profit think tank, Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, working alongside former Clinton aide, George Stephanopoulos, and volunteering at soup kitchens and homeless shelters; and,
WHEREAS, during Loring's tenure, the Redemptorist Social Services Center was transformed from a parish-based food pantry and emergency assistance agency into a full social services center offering medical, legal, and other advice in partnership with eight other agencies; and,
WHEREAS, Loring Henderson plans to relax and enjoy the break from the daily 100-mile commute and will continue to serve his community and his faith by exploring new opportunities in providing assistance to the needy; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Loring Henderson on his retirement, extends sincere appreciation for his selfless dedication to providing assistance to those in need, and wishes him success and enjoyment in all of his future endeavors.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
