Body
WHEREAS, the salary provided in the Jackson County Code for the office of Sheriff was last adjusted in 1993; and,
WHEREAS, it is appropriate, in order to continue to be in a position to attract candidates of the highest caliber, that this salary be increased; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Enacting Clause. section 7030., Jackson County Code, 1984, is hereby repealed, and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 7030., to read as follows:
7030. Sheriff, Compensation.
Effective January 1, [1997] 2005, the Sheriff of Jackson County, Missouri shall receive an annual salary of [sixty-five thousand dollars ($65,000)] $90,002.

Effective Date: This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
