Body
WHEREAS, on November 2, 2010, Mike Cierpiot was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives, representing the 56th District in eastern Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, Mike campaigned for free enterprise, a strong, dynamic healthcare system, quality education, a strong infrastructure, support for victims of domestic violence, strong drug enforcement laws, and property rights; and,
WHEREAS, Mike has been active in politics for the past 20 years, serving as a county committeeman, and vice chair of the 8th Senatorial District Committee; and,
WHEREAS, Mike was also nominated to serve on the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority in 1995; and,
WHEREAS, Mike is a supporter of the Sunshine Center, serving children with developmental delays, fragile medical conditions, and physical disabilities; and,
WHEREAS, Mike is an active supporter of the City Union Mission, committed to meeting the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of men, women, and children who are poor or homeless; and,
WHEREAS, Mike is supported in his public service endeavors by his wife, Connie, sons Patrick and Luke, and grandchildren, Ellie and Louie; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Mike Cierpiot on his election to the Missouri House of Representatives for the 56th District, and wishes him much success in the future.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
