A RESOLUTION congratulating Albert J. Yonke on the occasion of his receipt of the 1995 Litigator Emeritus Award from the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association.
Intro
RESOLUTION #10803, April 24, 1995 INTRODUCED BY Fred Arbanas, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, Albert J. Yonke obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Missouri- Kansas City School of Law in 1950; and
WHEREAS, since that time he has been admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, Missouri Supreme Court and all Missouri Courts, United States Court of Appeals - Eighth and Tenth Circuits, United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri, and United States District Court for the Western District of Texas; and
WHEREAS, during his legal career, Mr. Yonke has tried many jury cases in the area of personal injury and wrongful death, criminal law, condemnation, civil rights and prisoners rights, and non- jury cases in the categories of workers' compensation, domestic relations, labor and consumer arbitration, National Labor Relations Board, Social Security, and ERISA; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Yonke is a member of the Missouri Bar, Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, American Bar Association, and Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association; and
WHEREAS, other positions previously held by Mr. Yonke include chairman, Missouri Bar Labor Law Committee in 1990, special assistant attorney general under Thomas Eagleton and John Dalton, tax attorney for Jackson County, Missouri, and special prosecutor for City of Kansas City, Missour ; and
WHEREAS, Albert J. Yonke has been selected as the 1995 recipient of the Litigator Emeritus Award presented by the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association in recognition of outstanding achievement in the field of trial advocacy; therefore
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Albert J. Yonke on the occasion of his receipt of the 1995 Litigator Emeritus Award from the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association.
Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
