AN ORDINANCE repealing schedule II to chapter 2, Jackson County Code, 1984, relating to the salaries of County employees not within the Merit System, and enacting, in lieu thereof, one new schedule relating to the same subject.

Body
WHEREAS, because of a decrease in federal grants, the Jackson County Drug Task Force has been forced to reduce its staffing and these cuts have resulted in additional job duties being assigned to and the reorganization of existing positions; and,
 
WHEREAS, as a result of these changes, the Drug Task Force is requesting updates to its job classifications to remain competitive with the marketplace and a title change for one of its staff positions; and,
 
WHEREAS, because of savings in monthly rents and utilities, these salary adjustments will have no overall impact on the Drug Task Force's annual budget; and,
 
WHEREAS, these modifications are in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
 
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, as follows:
 
Section A.        Enacting Clause.  Schedule II to chapter 2, Jackson County Code, 1984, is hereby repealed and one new schedule enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as Schedule II, to read as follows:
