Title

INTRODUCED BY Bob Spence, County Legislator
 
Body
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has a need for one (1) Skid Steer Loader for use by the Road and Bridge Division; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a contract for the purchase of one (1) Skid Steer Loader for use by the Public Works Department to Bobcat Company of West Fargo, SD, under the terms and conditions of the Missouri Department of Transportation Contract No. 3-100126, an existing government contract; and,
                                                            
WHEREAS, the Director recommends award under section 1030.4, Jackson County Code, 1984, for the reason that this will allow the County to take advantage of discounts offered to large entities; and,
 
WHEREAS, the acquisition of this equipment has rendered an 2004 Bobcat Skid Steer Loader and attachments, as described on the attached Surplus Declaration Form, as surplus property that have become obsolete and unusable; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends that said property be declared unusable and used as a trade-in on this purchase; now therefore,
 
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made under the existing government contract as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing and that the Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the award; and,
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the surplus property within the Public Works Department, further described and itemized on the attached Surplus Declaration Form, be and hereby is declared obsolete and unusable, and that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to dispose of it as a trade-in pursuant to Chapter 11 of the Jackson County Code.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.
 
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
