Body
WHEREAS, the Prosecutor's Office has a need for temporary investigative services for the Independence office while the investigator assigned to that office is on medical leave for the period of December 21, 2009, through February 15, 2010; and,
WHEREAS, Glen Newton is familiar with the work involved and has worked with the current investigator on the particular job duties; and,
WHEREAS, this contract is necessary to continue the service of subpoenas and summons; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer is necessary to cover the costs; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney recommends said transfer; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be made within the 2009 Bad Check Collections Fund:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that award be made as recommended by the Prosecuting Attorney, and that the County Executive be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County a Professional Services Agreement with Glen Newton of Sugar Creek, MO, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
