A RESOLUTION declaring certain personal property, which was accumulated during general courthouse cleaning efforts, as surplus, authorizing its disposal by way of public auction, and awarding a contract for the furnishing of auction services to Mid-West Auction Company of Grandview, MO, in the amount of $500.00, plus the cost of advertising, to be deducted from the proceeds of the auction.

Body
WHEREAS, the County has certain personal property now stored at the Old Sports Castle at 12th and Holmes which has become surplus as a result of a county-wide housecleaning effort; and,
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Purchasing Director has declared this property surplus; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has solicited telephone bids for the furnishing of auction services to auction such personal property; and,
WHEREAS, he has received as the lowest three bids thereon the following:
VENDOR BID
Mid-West Auction Company, Grandview, MO $ 500
Rick Turner & Associates, Riverside, MO $ 600
Alstar Auction & Liquidation, Lee's Summit, MO $1,500
and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has recommended that award be made to Mid-West Auction Company of Grandview, MO, for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best bid; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the personal property, as set forth on the attached list, be and hereby is declared surplus property and the Director of Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to dispose of it way of public auction.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract...Attorney
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
