Body
WHEREAS, Nicholas Paul “Nick” Cervantes, 42, of Kansas City, Missouri, sadly passed away Friday, July 11, 2025; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Cervantes was born in January 1983, was raised in Kansas City, and graduated from Winnetonka High School, Class of 2001; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Cervantes spent more than twenty years working for FujiFilm, and then joined Kolay flooring; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Cervantes served on the board of I AM DOM Organization, which is a family-oriented organization that supports families of children with various childhood cancers, dedicated to assisting in lessening the financial burden that comes with this life-altering change; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Cervantes was also a member of the American Legion Post 213 Eagles Nest Auxiliary; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Cervantes was a devoted family man being a father to his two children and a husband to his wife, Desirie; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Cervantes has mentored, coached, and taught his son’s baseball and football teams, he loved his mother, always making sure that she was alright and he loved to spread laughter by cracking jokes, and sharing his smile; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature and Jackson County would like to celebrate, honor, and remember the legacy of Nicholas Paul “Nick” Cervantes; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby recognizes and celebrates Nicholas Paul “Nick” Cervantes and his legacy and life that impacted many.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
