A RESOLUTION congratulating the Oak Grove Panthers on their individual and team wrestling accomplishments.

Body
WHEREAS, under the outstanding leadership of Coach Bob Glasgow, the Oak Grove Panthers wrestling team won the 1999 Missouri State Class 1A-2A Wrestling Championship; and,
WHEREAS, accomplishments of the team include winning the North Kansas City Tournament, Missouri River Valley Conference Tournament, the Panthers' tenth consecutive district title; and,
WHEREAS, Oak Grove has won state wrestling championships in 1984, 1987, 1990, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, and 1999, making it the third team in Missouri wrestling annals to achieve four consecutive state titles; and,
WHEREAS, the Panthers have also won 47 individual state championships in the last 16 years, setting a record of more individual state titles than any school in Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, two of the seven four-time state champions in Missouri wrestling history are Matt Infranca and Brett Fry of Oak Grove; and,
WHEREAS, this year's team qualified ten wrestlers for the state tournament, with three individual state champions: Bobbe Lowe, Aaron Tolen and Travis Crall; and,
WHEREAS, those wrestlers qualifying for the state tournament were:
Billy Chisholm 32 wins, 14 losses; 6th place state finish
Bobbe Lowe 40 wins, 3 losses; state champion
Robby Beebe 30 wins, 9 losses; 2nd place state finish
Craig Emry 33 wins, 1 loss; 2nd place state finish
Garrett Trimble 28 wins, 17 losses; 5th place state finish
Jamey Alexander 38 wins, 10 losses; 3rd place state finish
Aaron Tolen 34 wins, 4 losses; state champion
Dusty Binder 10 wins, 10 losses
Travis Crall 38 wins, 2 losses; state champion
Eric Conrad 10 wins, 11 losses
and;
WHEREAS, the Oak Grove Panthers deserve the highest of praise for their wrestling accomplishments, for their hard work and perseverance in striving for excellence, and for ably representing their school in their athletic endeavors; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates the Oak Grove Panthers on their outstanding victory as District 4 and Missouri state wrestling champions...Attorney
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
