Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 16286, dated May 7, 2007, the Legislature did authorize the County Executive to execute a Cooperative Agreement with the City of Kansas City, Missouri, that provided for County management of certain County Urban Road System (CURS) road and bridge projects within the City of Kansas City, including the Longview Road, Hickman Mills to Orchard Drive Project, No. 3088; and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution 16321, dated June 11, 2007, the Legislature did authorize the County Executive to execute a Cooperative Agreement for engineering services involving completion of design associated with the project provided by Cook, Flatt, & Strobel Engineering of Kansas City, MO; and,
WHEREAS, due to unforeseen changes in access to and from Longview Road at 71 Highway, the City of Kansas City has instructed the County to complete additional traffic studies to verify that the proposed lane configuration is still appropriate; and
WHEREAS, Cook, Flatt & Strobel Engineering has submitted a proposal to accomplish the requested additional work; and,
WHEREAS, the County Execute now recommends that Cook, Flatt, & Strobel Engineering of Kansas City, MO, be retained by the County to accomplish the requested additional work in connection with this project, at a total additional cost to the County not to exceed $12,700.00; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute an Addendum to the Consulting Agreement with Cook, Flatt, & Strobel Engineering of Kansas City, MO, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the agreement and addendum thereto.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
