WHEREAS, Jackson County and the greater Kansas City community mourn the passing of Adan Manzano, a dedicated sports journalist whose passion for storytelling brought the excitement of the game to countless Spanish-speaking fans; and,
WHEREAS, Adan Manzano was a respected member of the Tico Sports and KGKC Telemundo Kansas City teams, known for his professionalism, enthusiasm, and commitment to elevating Latino representation in sports media; and,
WHEREAS, through his work, Adan became a trusted voice in the Kansas City sports community, ensuring that Spanish-speaking fans had access to the same in-depth coverage, analysis, and excitement as all others in the city; and,
WHEREAS, his sudden passing is a tragic loss not only for his family, friends, and colleagues, but for the entire Kansas City community and the field of sports journalism; and,
WHEREAS, Adan Manzano leaves behind a legacy of dedication, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to his craft, setting an example for future generations of journalists and broadcasters; and,
WHEREAS, Jackson County stands with his loved ones in mourning this profound loss and calls for a full and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding his passing, ensuring that justice and clarity are provided to his family; and,
WHEREAS, the impact of Adan Manzano’s world and life will continue to be felt, as his contributions to journalism and the Kansas City community will not be forgotten; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Jackson County Legislature hereby honors the life and legacy of Adan Manzano, extends its deepest condolences to his family and recognizes his lasting contributions to sports journalism and the Latino community in Kansas City.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
