IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute a License Agreement with Maple Wood Productions, Inc., to allow filming of the motion picture "To Live On" at Fleming and Mouth of the Little Blue Parks. Intro RESOLUTION #12161, April 6, 1998 INTRODUCED BY Fred Arbanas, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, Maple Wood Productions, Inc., has begun the filming of its motion picture, "To Live On" in the Kansas City area; and, WHEREAS, this film, a Civil War - era drama, is the largest production ever undertaken on location in this area; and, WHEREAS, Maple Wood has requested that it be allowed to film, for a fee payable to the County, portions of the picture at Mouth of the Little Blue Park and Fleming Park's Missouri Town 1855; and, WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation believes that the proposed filming will provide valuable exposure and publicity to Jackson County parks in general and specifically to Missouri Town; and, WHEREAS, the Director has negotiated the attached License Agreement with Maple Wood Productions, Inc., to provide a mechanism by which to grant the requested permission; and, WHEREAS, the execution of this Agreement is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached License Agreement with Maple Wood Productions, Inc. Fiscal Note Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
