WHEREAS, by Ordinance 2913, dated April 12, 1999, the County Legislature authorized the County Executive to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with the Board of Police Commissioners of Kansas City, MO, for the Midwest H.I.D.T.A. Kansas City Metropolitan Enforcement Initiative Task Force, whereunder the Board reimburses the County for 100% of the salary of an assistant prosecuting attorney; and,
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 2985, dated January 10, 2000, Ordinance 3008, dated March 13, 2000, Resolution 13275, dated July 10, 2000, Ordinance 3083, dated October 16, 2000, Ordinance 3120, dated January 22, 2001, Ordinance 3205, dated October 29, 2001, and Ordinance 3377, dated June 9, 2003, the Legislature did authorize First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Addenda to this Memorandum modifying and extending the Memorandum; and,
WHEREAS, the parties now desire to extend the agreement, as amended for an additional five-month period through July 31, 2004; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into an Eighth Addendum, to the Memorandum of Understanding with the Board of Police Commissioners regarding the Kansas City Metropolitan Enforcement Initiative Task Force agreement, extending the Memorandum for a five-month period, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
