IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title A RESOLUTION awarding a contract on Bid No. PW-2345 for the construction of hollow metal doors and frames, finish and detention hardware for the expansion at the Jackson County Detention Center to The G-S Company of Baltimore, Maryland, in the actual amount of $416,994.00, and authorizing the County Executive to approve additional expenditures under this contract at a cost not to exceed $21,000.00, for a total amount not to exceed $437,994.00. Intro RESOLUTION 11539, December 9, 1996 INTRODUCED BY Dixie M. Flynn, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, in connection with the Jackson County Detention Center expansion, the Purchasing Director has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. PW-2345 (Bid Package No. 4) for the construction of hollow metal doors and frames, finish and detention hardware; and, WHEREAS, he has received as the lowest three bids thereon bids from the following: VENDOR BID The G-S Company $416,994.00 of Baltimore, MD D. H. Pace Construction Services $439,250.00 of North Kansas City, MO BDC, Inc. $471,879.00 of Kansas City (Jackson County), MO and, WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has recommended that award be made to The G-S Company of Baltimore, Maryland, for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best bid; and, WHEREAS, in the event that change orders to the contract become necessary, due to the time constraints involved in completion of this phase of work, it is appropriate that the County Executive be given authority to approve additional expenditures under this contract not to exceed $21,000.00, which is approximately 5% of the contract amount; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Executive is authorized to approve additional expenditures which may become necessary under this contract in an amount not to exceed $21,000.00; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, except final payment on the contract. Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
