Body

WHEREAS, the County has a need to upgrade the railroad signs at the location where Courtney Atherton Road intersects with the Burlington Northern & Santa Fe Railway Company railroad tracks, identified as DOT# 005373R near Atherton, MO; and,

 

WHEREAS, the installation of flashing light signals and gates is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED  by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute an agreement in a form to be approved by the County Counselor, between the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission, the Burlington Northern & Santa Fe Railway Company, and Jackson County, MO, for the installation of flashing light signals and gates at the intersection of Courtney Atherton Road and Burlington Northern & Santa Fe railroad tracks, at an estimated cost to the County of $30,000.00.

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
