Body
WHEREAS, The Storytellers, Inc., is a unique program for current and new drug court participants in the Mental Toughness Project, which uses creative problem-solving methods for dealing with the participants' individual life problems; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office desires to enter into an agreement with The Storytellers, Inc., to provide weekly sessions to participants in the Mental Toughness Project for a period of December 1, 2010, through December 31, 2011, at a cost to the County not to exceed $22,000.00; and,
      
WHEREAS, this agreement is in the best interest of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
 
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute a contract with The Storytellers, Inc., of Kansas City (Jackson County), MO, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the agreement.
 
 
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
