A RESOLUTION congratulating Claire McClain upon being selected as a winner in the Midland Dairy Council and the Kansas City Chiefs bumper sticker design contest.

Body
WHEREAS, Claire McClain is a seven-year-old first grader at Luff Elementary School where she is a student in Donna Cummings' class; and
WHEREAS, each year students in Ms. Cummings' class enter the Midland Dairy and Kansas City Chiefs bumper sticker design contest; and,
WHEREAS, Claire was one of 15 winners selected from nearly 8,000 entries received from Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska; and,
WHEREAS, Claire's winning bumper sticker shows a picture of herself along with a picture of Chiefs' linebacker Derrick Thomas with the award winning slogan "Milk helps me and the Chiefs grow big and strong"; and,
WHEREAS, an assembly was held in Claire's honor highlighted by a visit from K.C. Wolf who talked to the students about healthy eating; and,
WHEREAS, Claire received a certificate, her winning drawing in a frame, a poster, and she was allowed to wear the K.C. Wolf costume during the assembly; and,
WHEREAS, Claire is to be commended for her artistic talent and her creativity in winning this contest and for proudly representing Luff Elementary School; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Claire McClain upon being selected as one of the winners in the Midland Dairy Council and Kansas City Chiefs bumper sticker design contest...Attorney
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
