Intro

RESOLUTION NO. 21516, January 29, 2024

INTRODUCED BY Charlie Franklin, County Legislator

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Raytown, MO has requested that the County grant a permanent drainage easement and a temporary construction easement across a portion of the Rock Island Corridor; and,

WHEREAS, the City of Raytown needs to replace an existing stormwater system that crosses the Jackson County railroad right-of-way on 59th and Raytown Road giving need to establish a permanent easement; and,

WHEREAS, the City of Raytown, MO has determined that the temporary construction easement will provide the City of Raytown, and their future contractor, the appropriate space to remove and replace the 60-inch diameter concrete stormwater pipe; and,

WHEREAS, the new stormwater pipe will cross beneath the Rock Island Corridor, creating a need for a permanent drainage easement; and,

WHEREAS, the City of Raytown, MO has determined that during execution of the project work, a temporary trail connection will be installed; and,

WHEREAS, another part of the project plan is to remove a section of the Rock Island Trail on the southeast corner of the intersection of 59th Street and Raytown Road causing a week or so of trail closure and trail detour; and,

WHEREAS, the City of Raytown, MO, will pay the County’s administrative fee which is the sum of $2,000.00 and the permanent drainage easement fee of $580.00, totaling $2,850.00 in which will be paid upon execution of the agreements; now therefore,
