Body
WHEREAS, the County has been awarded a grant in the amount of 150,000.00 by the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Justice Programs for its Mental Health Court program; and,
WHEREAS, this grant will create one-full time and one part-time position to provide specialized case management for the Mental Health Court in Kansas City, through a contract with Truman Medical Center Behavioral Health Network (TMC-BHN); and,
WHEREAS, this contract will extend for 24 months commencing January 1, 2004, and will pay TMC-BHN $150,000.00 in equal monthly payments, to be matched by TMC-BHN with $143,413.00 in in-kind services; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the grant funds in the proper spending accounts; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made; and,

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute a contract with TMC-BHN for the Mental Health Court program, at a cost to the County not to exceed $150,000.00, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor.

Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
