Body
WHEREAS, Genesis School, Inc., operates the Genesis School Mentoring Program which works with students ages 11-15; and,
WHEREAS, the goals of the Genesis School Mentoring Program are to engage families in substance abuse prevention programming, improve knowledge and reactions to drug use, and improve school attendance, academic achievement, and behavior at school; and,
WHEREAS, Genesis School, Inc., has requested $16,000.00 as a match to a local grant; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and request for funds and recommends the expenditure of these funds; and,
WHEREAS, financial support for the Genesis School Mentoring Program is in the best interest of the County and its citizens, and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and request for funds and recommends the expenditure of these funds; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an Agreement in a form to be approved by the County Counselor to provide COMBAT Grant Match Funds in the amount of $16,000.00 to the Genesis School, Inc., for the Genesis School Mentoring Program for the period of April 1, 2005 through April 30, 2006.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
